Founded in 2002 by Kristie Tamsevicius and Michelle Floyd, Webmomz is a work from home resource community for mom entrepreneurs who want to work from home.

Kim Bloom, GVA, created a blog called "Virtual Business Mommy" to introduce local readers and small businesses to the Virtual Assistance industry and the benefits of using a Virtual Assistant.  It will also discuss work-life topics, such as parents balancing work and kids while working from home.

 

An Afternoon at the Met

Kim Bloom, GVA, was invited to the spectacular December 8 performance of Iphigénie en Tauride at the New York Metropolitan Opera.  After the performance, she was welcomed backstage and met with renowned tenor Plácido Domingo, who played Oreste.  Plácido Domingo gained international stardom as one of “The Three Tenors” with Luciano Pavarotti and José Carreras.

 

 

Cintron Beverage Group Selects Waivasir Virtual Assistance Services for "Journey to Shanghai" Classical Music Concerts

Philadelphia-based Cintron Beverage Group presented “Journey to Shanghai” that featured performances by acclaimed violinist and violist Xiao-Fu Zhou accompanied by pianist Samuel Hsu in Philadelphia on September 15, 2007 at the Kimmel Center’s Perelman Theater and in Pittsburgh on October 1, 2007 at Carnegie Music Hall to promote its new line of Cintron Green Tea Beverages.  The repertoire included great works by Brahms, Prokofiev, Debussy, Sibelius, Kreisler and others.  Waivasir was selected by Cintron to plan and coordinate the concerts, and in addition, Waivasir provided marketing and promotional services, including web and graphic design. Concert goers received a complimentary “Journey to Shanghai” CD and goodie bag containing assorted flavors of Cintron Green Teas.

Virtual Assistant Appointed Board Secretary of Local Business Owners Association

The Southern Fauquier Business Owners Association recently appointed Kim Bloom, GVA, as the new Secretary for the board.  Organized in 1996, the Southern Fauquier Business Owners Association is comprised of approximately 120 members consisting of retailers, service businesses, industries & medical professionals.

A Gala Evening with Michel Legrand

Kim Bloom, GVA, attended The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia's 2007 Annual Gala held May 19 at the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia. The event honored law firm Blank Rome, LLP, the Chamber Orchestra's season sponsor for over a decade.  Michel Legrand and his wife, acclaimed harpist Catherine Michel performed and Legrand was presented with the COP's First Annual Lifetime Achievement Award.

Virtual Assistant Conference 2006

Waivasir attended the VA Conference 2006 held October 12-14 in Dallas Fort Worth, Texas.  The annual conference provides the guiding principles to become a stellar Virtual Assistant. Consisting of intense mini workshops, the sessions provided an opportunity for individual and group participation and touched on real world networking, niche markets, tradeshow techniques and much more.   

The keynote speakers were Jeff Crilley and Bryan Dodge.  Jeff Crilley is an Emmy Award winning TV reporter in Dallas. During his 20 years in television news he has made hundreds of national news appearances including CNN, CNN Headline News, FOX News, The Discovery Channel, Good Morning America and The CBS Early Show. Bryan Dodge, billed as “Corporate’s Next Choice’, last year alone made well over 300 speaking appearances all across the US and Canada. He is the author of two professional development programs “How to Build a Better You” and “How to Build a Complete Sales Person”.

The VA Conference was very informative, fun, and the supportive network of emerging and experienced Virtual Assistants in attendance was one of the many highlights.

 

Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia

Peter H. Gistelinck, husband of Kim Bloom, GVA, was appointed Executive Director of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia effective September 7.  Congratulations, Peter!!!

 

 

ISPA 58th Annual Conference

Kim Bloom, GVA, attended the International Society of Performing Arts 58th Annual Conference held January 17-19  in New York.  The conference theme was "Ubuntu: I am because we are" and was attended by Arts & Entertainment professionals from around the world.  The conference included interactive discussions and debates on various topics relating to the ancient African philosophy and the arts industry, exhibits, sightseeing, social functions, an auction and concluded with an awards ceremony. 

 

The conferences two keynote speakers were South African actor, director and playwright Dr. John Kani.  His film credits include Sarafina!, A Dry White Season and The Wild Geese, among others, and Liz Lerman, founder of Liz Lerman's Dance Exchange. 
        

European Film Awards

Kim Bloom, GVA, attended the European Film Awards weekend held December 2-3 in Berlin, Germany.  "The Music of The Image, The European Film Composers in Concert" took place on December 2 at Berlin's Volksbükne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz where under conductor Dirk Brossé, the Flemish Radio Orchestra presented film music by highly acclaimed and award winning composers Alberto Iglesias, Maurice Jarre, Gabriel Yared, Bruno Coulais, Frédéric Devresse, George Fenton, Stephen Warbeck and Zbigniev Preisner.

The awards ceremony was held on December 3 at the Berlin Arena where three-time Oscar winning composer Maurice Jarre was honored with the European Achievement in World Cinema Award and actor Sean Connery was presented with the lifetime achievement award for his career spanning more than 50 years. 
 

Jazz Middelheim 2005

Jazz Middelheim 2005 held August 11-15 at Park Den Brandt in Antwerp, Belgium.  The biannual summer jazz festival was founded by Flemish composer Elias Gistelinck, the father of Peter Gistelinck, Waivasir's  Arts and Entertainment consultant, and was first held back in 1969. 

Over the years, everybody who is anybody in Jazz has performed there, including Dizzy Gillespie, Nathan Davis, Sarah Vaughan, Slide Hampton, Toots Thielemans, Betty Carter, David Linx, Clarke Terry, Bobby Bradford, Helen Humes, Gerry Mulligan, Philippe Catherine, Dee Daniels, Phil Woods, Deborah Brown, Michele Rosewoman, Diana Krall, Connie Crothers and many others.  The headliners this year were Toots Thielemans Quartet, Marc Moulin, Wayne Shorter Quartet, Randy Weston, Erwin Vann Group and the Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band.
